Cyber Security Awareness Program: Device protection
Your computers, laptops, smartphones and tablets are used for work, communication, storing information, browsing the internet, banking services and more.
Attackers see these activities as an opportunity to scam you, gain access to your information, steal money or cause harm. The methods they use to carry out scams are varied. Therefore, it is important to be extremely cautious.
We keep your money safe wherever you are
If you find yourself in Afghanistan, North Korea, Syria or Iran, for your own safety, we’ll block the use of Raiffeisen mobile and internet banking while you’re in these countries.
In the above countries, the safety of network infrastructure is not fully in line with the standards we comply with, so it is important for us to do everything we can to protect our customers' devices and their confidential data.
As a precaution, your Raiffeisen mobile and internet banking will not be operating in the mentioned Asian countries, but you will be able to use physical cards.

In which places and situations should you be extremely cautious?
- Whenever you use a computer in a public place such as an internet cafe or an airport and when using free Wi-Fi in such places.
- When using file-sharing programs, it’s important to ensure they are configured properly. If not, unauthorized individuals could gain access to all your files.
- When opening attachments, be cautious as they may contain viruses or malicious software that could infect your computer.
- When searching for programs and applications, make sure to download them from trusted sources to ensure their authenticity and security.
- When you open a link in an email/message/ad, when you access websites through links received in an email, message (SMS, WhatsApp, Viber, etc.), or via social media, as they can infect your device.
- Be cautious of websites that use pop-up windows with suspicious messages, as they may infect your device with malicious software.
Attackers can develop a range of malicious software specifically designed for malicious activities on devices such as computers, smartphones and tablets. This kind of malicious program is called malware. Even in the case of malware, you are a key factor in protecting your data. If you see messages with miraculous content promising instant wealth, it's time to leave those websites and apps immediately.
Malware, or malicious code, poses a threat to devices and their security. These are widespread programs that can record everything you type on your computer, capture audio and video through your microphone and camera, take screenshots, steal documents and files and open hidden backdoors on your device. These collected information is then sent to the person controlling one of these programs, with the intent of stealing funds from your accounts.
Malware can reach your device hidden in seemingly harmless attachments sent via e-mail or through a suspicious website. It can also be installed through what appears to be a legitimate program or application downloaded from an untrusted website.

How can you protect yourself from malware?
- Update your operating system regularly (na svom mobitelu, laptopu, tabletu), web pretraživač i program za detekciju zlonamjernih programa (antimalware sustav).
- Increase the security level on your browser by not accepting cookies from untrusted websites.
- Configure your web browser not to save your passwords (and delete any that have already been saved).
- Never click on a link offered in an e-mail, as it may lead you to a website with malicious code.
- Use a unique password for your primary e-mail account that is different from all your other passwords.
- Use a malware detection program.
Of course, you can't always know if you've “picked up” malware on your device. That's why it's important to have the latest version of your device's operating system and antivirus program installed on all your devices (such as computers, smartphones, etc.), significantly increasing your security during online activities.
Pay the most attention to those devices you use for online banking and online card payments.
