  • On a separate screen, the user will be informed of the fee, and then offered to either continue with the transaction and pay the fee, or to cancel the cash withdrawal transaction.

Dynamic Currency Conversion (DCC)

Dynamic currency conversion is a bank service, which allows users of cards issued abroad to choose to be debited in the currency of their account when withdrawing cash. Check the currencies available in the DCC service in this document.

When conducting a common cash withdrawal, a foreign card user is not informed of the exchange rate and the actual amount for which their account will be debited but learns about this only after the account has been debited already. In the case of the DCC service, the exchange rate and the actual amount in their own currency for which the account will be debited are displayed to the user immediately. After the user selects a withdrawal amount, the ATM screen shows the selected withdrawal amount in the euro, together with the applicable conversion rate, and the amount for which the user’s account will be debited in the currency of the respective card. The transaction can be accepted or rejected, and the user can opt for cash withdrawal without the Dynamic Currency Conversion (DCC). The service is in accordance with the Visa and Mastercard rules, and the exchange rate at which the conversion is executed is different from the exchange rate at the RBA branches.

Exchange rate list for the European Economic Area

When withdrawing cash at the RBA ATMs, the exchange rate applied for clients from the European Economic Area who select payment in the card currency (Dynamic currency conversion - DCC transaction) will be the one shown in the table. Total currency conversion fees are shown as a percentage margin related to the latest available reference FX rates for the euro, as published by the European Central Bank (ECB).
