Yesterday the final condition of new Government issuance was announced.Croatia took advantage of the favourable conditions, ample liquidity and significantly improved fundaments, and taped the primary market with HRK 3 bn
new bonds indexed to the Euro. With strong investor interest in the new 15-year bond paper the yield to maturity was at a low 3.30%. However, as we already stated as Ministry of Finance pre-announced the issuance a weak ago FX development had already priced it. Therefore no further market impact is expected.
As for the upcoming quarters we expect the Government to tap the local market once again in the Q4 2017 (with a long term bond indexed to EUR in the amount of approximately HRK 5.5 bn). This amount will round off this year’s
(re)financing needs.
