In its meeting today, the Supervisory Board of Raiffeisen Bank International AG (RBI) decided that Andrii Stepanenko will take over the Management Board member position in charge of Retail Banking. Stepanenko will succeed Klemens Breuer, who left the bank at the end of October. Stepanenko was born on 28 April 1972 and until now was Deputy Chairman of the Management Board and in charge of Retail Banking at Raiffeisenbank in Russia. His appointment is still subject to the approval of the supervisory authorities.

"I am pleased that we can strengthen RBI's management team with such an outstanding leader," said Erwin Hameseder, Chairman of RBI's Supervisory Board. "Andrii Stepanenko impressively demonstrated his expertise and leadership during his many years of service to the RBI Group," added RBI-CEO Johann Strobl.

Stepanenko, who holds a doctorate degree in Finance, began his career with the RBI Group in 1998 as Head of Corporate Credit Analysis at Raiffeisenbank Ukraine. From 2000 to 2003, he held a leading role for risk management development at the RZB Group in Vienna. Between 2007 and 2008, he held the Chief Risk Officer function at Raiffeisenbank in Russia and has held his current position since 2008.

"I am very pleased about the new responsibility. RBI is one of the leading retail banks in CEE. I would like to expand this position in the coming years and put a particular emphasis on the field of digitization," said Stepanenko.

RBI's Supervisory Board will decide on the replacement of the Board Member for the Markets division in the coming weeks.
