Letters of Intent

If a part of the financing is covered by a bank loan, some calls for tenders define that the applicant shall submit a Non-Binding or a Binding Letter of Intent from the bank when submitting the project proposal. Please note that a Binding Letter of Intent requires a somewhat longer approval period, as if you were applying for a loan, therefore, make sure to contact your banker on time.

Co-financing Loans for EU Projects

In addition to the EU grant received, an entrepreneur also participates in the investment with their own share, which may be in the form of loans and own funds.

If you need a loan to pay supplier/manufacturer bills in advance, as the grant is received afterwards, after you have paid the bills, RBA can approve a loan to you directly or from the HBOR programme EU Projects. Our recommendation to entrepreneurs is to come to the bank before submitting the Project Application to consider financing options.

RBA can accept a particular percentage of the grant as the entrepreneur’s own funds, if this fits into the financial construction.

Guarantees

If the tender allows disbursement of a art of the EU grant in advance, you will need an advance payment guarantee from the bank.

Account for EU Project Execution

Often calls for tenders require that the entrepreneur opens a special project account to which the EU grants will be paid. For this purpose, at RBA you can open:

  1. Special Purpose Account to which the EU grants will be paid and from which they will be debited, a part of the WC loan and/or other downpayments related to a specific project
  2. Special Purpose Account protected from enforcement pursuant Art. 172 point 16 of the Execution Act, to which account exclusively the EU grants can be paid.
