Career in RBA
Our employees are distinguished by commitment, professionalism and a proactive approach to business – the virtues that make us one of the top banks in the Croatian market.
We offer our employees professional growth, enhancement of their knowledge and skills and the possibility for advancement in various areas. Good team spirit, tolerance and diversity make us a dynamic group, improved further with the addition of each new team member and his/her ideas.
There is no default form, but we would like to receive a Curriculum Vitae structured in bullet points or as a table. Education and work experience should be arranged by listing the most recent experience and the highest level of education first. Do not provide excessive amounts of information; a CV of a person with little or no experience should not be longer than one page, while a CV of somebody with more experience should not exceed two pages.
When writing a CV, do not exaggerate with colours, fonts, inappropriate pictures and so on, and pay attention to spelling and grammar. Ask a friend or a family member to provide feedback on the quality of your CV. Bear in mind that a CV reflects your professional communication skills.
Rather than assuming that we know what you have been doing, state it clearly. Try to illustrate your work experience using measurable concepts or achievements, instead of a passive job descriptions.
If you have no formal work experience, do not forget to list any experience acquired through volunteering, part-time jobs, school or university practice or through informal activities, for example, competitions, student projects or work in associations.
Remember that your CV will be included in our database, so describe your knowledge and skills with keywords by which you will stand out it and be easily found.
The selection process mostly includes three steps:
- psychological testing (lasting up to three hours),
- interview with an HR representative (lasting up to an hour) and
- one or more interviews (lasting up to an hour) with representatives of the business areas in which you would be working – usually with a future supervisor.
The testing consists of a test of cognitive abilities, a personality questionnaire, a questionnaire on work values and an assessment of English language and computer skills. Testing at RBA takes three hours on average.
Although numerous test examples and preparation advice can be found online, we do not believe that there is a specific method of preparation. You are advised to get enough rest and to fully concentrate on the task to be solved. Use the time provided for instructions and going through tasks to practice, so that you can ask any potential questions to resolve any doubts before the testing begins.
It is important to know that the profile of an ideal candidate, including ideal test results, varies depending on the position. Not being selected after testing does not mean that you will not be given an opportunity in the future – as soon as a new position more suitable to your profile opens.
An interview with HR representatives serves to complement psychological testing and is based on questions about your personality, motivation, interests, and work values. We will also go through your CV and talk about your previous work experience and education. The information you listed in your CV is the best preparation material. It is best to be sincere and provide specific answers to questions. Your positive attitude will be recognised and appreciated.
The interview with the representatives of business areas in which you would be working is based more on your professional and technical skills required for the potential job, where a superior officer estimates whether you would fit into the existing team. It is also an opportunity to find out what to expect at the workplace and ask questions relating to the content of the job for which you are applying.
It depends on the position you are applying for. Our job advertisements will specify whether this is an essential prerequisite or where it would be advantageous.
You can send us an open application, together with your CV, to the e-mail address: career@rba.hr at any time. Please specify the areas and jobs of your interest, using the keywords by which you may easily be found in our database.
Most job advertisements will always be announced here – at our corporate sites and very often at portals specialising in labour market advertising, such as MojPosao.
A smaller portion of jobs are not advertised as we can find candidates through our database of CVs and open applications. In any case, it is recommended to be in our database.
Occasionally, we offer traineeship opportunities, but the contact is mostly established directly via educational institutions. Students admitted as trainees are assigned a trainee mentor, and the traineeship takes place according to a specific programme.
From time to time, we hire students under a student contract to perform administrative work on an occasional or temporary basis. You may send your CV to the e-mail address career@rba.hr, with a “Student job” note in the e-mail subject. Please state your availability – in which period you would be able to work and for how long.
We acknowledge and monitor our colleagues who achieve outstanding results, have highly developed competencies and perform their tasks in accordance with our values. We support their efforts to advance to a position of higher complexity and focus on their development.
In addition to vertical development enabled through internal vacancies or job enrichment, our employees have a possibility of horizontal development. Since our employees have grown and developed together with the Bank, most our current management team consists of people who had just embarked on their career at the time we employed them.
A large number of bank positions require particular licences and certificates laid down by law. We always encourage our employees to acquire them and finance it..
The employees are offered a variety of additional professional trainings related to the tasks in their job. We co-finance foreign language learning and higher education, thus encouraging our employees to take responsibility for their education, earn degrees and learn continuously.
We perceive development as much more than just education, so we we provide our employees with the possibility to participate in projects or gain insight into other business areas, mentoring or coaching, or else an opportunity to mentor someone else, or to propose process improvement initiatives and participate actively in their development.
It is our practice to send feedback to the sender for each application or open application submitted. However, this process is currently not yet automated, so bear in mind that you might not receive a thank-you note immediately upon submitting your application.
On completion of the selection process for a particular job, we send feedback to all the candidates who applied. Given the large number of applications, the selection process tends to take a considerable amount of time, so we appreciate your patience and understanding.
