- When will it be possible to withdraw/deposit euros at ATMs?
As of 01/01/2023, ATMs will be providing euros.
Still, it may happen that not all ATMs have euros available immediately – therefore, we will notify you of the nearby ATMs that can provide you with euros. So, before you head off to an ATM, check its status on our website.
- Until when will it be possible to withdraw/deposit kunas at ATMs?
Withdrawal and depositing of kuna cash at ATMs in the Republic of Croatia will be possible until the date of changeover to the euro. As of the day of changeover to the euro, it will be possible to withdraw and deposit exclusively euro cash at ATMs.
- What is the minimal denomination that will be available for withdrawal at ATM after the date of changeover to the euro?
The lowest denomination that can be withdrawn at an ATM is 10 euros. ATMs will be loaded with minimal denominations of 10 and 20 euros. It is important to note that an ATM can pay out a maximum of 40 banknotes in one transaction.
- How will the dual display of amounts be shown at ATMs?
RBA ATMs will have dual display for:
• pre-defined amounts for withdrawals, but only in Croatian
• account balance on the screen and transaction slip – but only for cards issued by RBA d.d.
Before the changeover to the euro as the legal currency, the kuna amount will be followed by the euro amount. After the changeover to the euro as the legal currency, euro amounts will be displayed first, followed by kuna amounts. Amounts will be displayed dually by the end of the year 2023.
Euronet ATMs apply the same rules for dual display as the RBA ATMs.
- How will ATMs migrate to the euro?
Migration will take place in December 2022 and January 2023.
ATMs migrated in December 2022 will not operate until 01/01/2023, or until the date of changeover to the euro as the legal currency in R Croatia.
Devices that are not migrated to the euro in December 2022 will not operate from 01/01/2023 until the date of their migration to the euro.
